Have you ever wanted to express your artistic talents amongst the fields and meadows of The Lake District, constructing or performing live art to a backdrop of rolling hills with cows roaming in the background. Well your prayers have been answered, Kendall Calling Festival, often revered as 'The Glastonbury of The North' and 2009 winner of the Best UK Small Festival Award is looking for independent artists to spice up the landscape with their creative designs, installations or performances. Furthermore, they are offering up prize grants to fund certain selected projects.
The organisers are dedicated to making the festival experience a diverse, eclectic and original affair and have in the past certainly held true to this philosophy, incorporating several pieces of original art designs and events such as 'Pollocks's Corner' where festival goers painted a set of white furniture in the style of Jackson Pollock, a huge multiculoured UV arch, water monsters, scrap metal robots and more. So if you feel you have an original, creative idea and are looking for an ideal canvas in which to perform then this could be an ideal opportunity.
Applications are open to anyone and everyone, so let your imagination run wild amongst the poesies and submit your proposals before the 10th May 2010. By email, contact art@kendalcalling.com or go to the website to download an application form http://www.wearecalling.com/artform.doc.
